Analysis of Household Health Expenditure in Central Sulawesi: A Study Based on Susenas Data

Abstract

This study aims to determine the elasticity of household health expenditure in Central Sulawesi and to design policies for accessibility of household health services in Central Sulawesi. Using data from the National Socio-Economic Survey (SUSENAS), 2020, there were 7,399 out of 7,418 survey households with health expenditure. Utilizing elasticity, it has been found that the elasticity of health expenditure to income by group is inelastic. The smallest health expenditure elasticity was identified in the lowest income group at -0.04, the largest elasticity in the highest income group at 1.5. The design of health service accessibility policy for households in Central Sulawesi Province is in the form of health insurance provided to household groups that have low income, namely in the first to fourth household groups.
